Kids Cafe is an after-school feeding program designed to combat childhood hunger. The South Plains Food Bank Kids Cafes provide children with nutritious evening meals in a safe after-school environment. Our goal is to feed children at risk of hunger so they have the energy to learn and grow.
What you can do . . .
Interested in helping the Kids Cafe? Here are a few ways you can assist us:
Volunteer – Kids Cafe depends heavily on the kindness and talents of volunteers. Ways you can volunteer include: tutoring children, helping with food preparation and service, playing games and sports with the kids, teaching arts and crafts, helping students learn more about computers, and being a smiling face at the end of a long school day.
In-Kind Donations – Kids Cafe is always in need of items to assist us in feeding our children. These items include, but are not limited to the following: heavy-duty kitchen supplies, paper goods, educational tools, and fresh or prepared food.
Financial Support – Kids Cafe is funded through grants and private donations. Financial support from organizations and individuals is essential to continuing to alleviate childhood hunger and giving hope to children across the South Plains.
