How do I get a food voucher?
The South Plains Food Bank and its agencies work with Texas 211 to get out information about who will be distributing out vouchers on any particular day.

What is Texas 211?
2-1-1 Texas, a program of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, is committed to helping Texas citizens connect with the services they need. Whether by phone or internet, their goal is to present accurate, well-organized and easy-to-find information from state and local health and human services programs. They accomplish this through the work of our 25 Area Information Centers (AICs) across the state. 2-1-1 Texas is a free, anonymous social service hot line available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

No matter where you live in Texas, you can dial 2-1-1, or (877) 541-7905, and find information about resources in your local community. Whether you need help finding food or housing, child care, crisis counseling or substance abuse treatment, one number is all you need to know.

How often can I receive food from the South Plains Food Bank?
The rule for receiving food from the South Plains Food Bank, is you are allowed to pick up food once a week, but you must have a voucher each time you come. The SPFB agency can determine how often you can come to their organization to pick up a voucher.

Can I just come to the South Plains Food Bank and get my voucher from them?
The SPFB does not hand out food vouchers. SPFB is a distribution site for the agencies. The agencies do the screening for the SPFB and sends the clients who qualifies.

Does everybody qualify for a food voucher?
No, there is an income eligibility that you must be under in order to receive food.

There are two different families that live in one home, can we both get a food voucher?
Unfortunately, no. We try to make sure everyone gets food. Therefore the SPFB rule is one voucher per address.

What information do I need to bring to the agencies in order to receive a food voucher?
Each agency is different, but the majority of the agencies ask that everybody brings an ID and proof of address from the last 30 days.

I am needing formula, what do I need to do?
The SPFB distributes formula every Tuesday afternoon. Please call (806) 763-3003 to make sure formula is available. Please bring a picture ID, proof of address, and baby’s birth certificate, shot record, or verification form from the hospital.

Can you help me apply for Food Stamps?
