What is SNAP? What Benefit Changes Could Mean for You

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides monthly funds to help eligible households buy groceries, including fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy, and other staples.

Starting November 1, 2025, SNAP funding will be reduced nationwide. Here in the South Plains, SNAP feeds up to 58,000 families, nearly half live in Lubbock.

For Families with SNAP Benefits

If you’re losing or at risk of losing SNAP benefits, you’re not alone. South Plains Food Bank is here to help you through this transition with free food assistance for your family. Our food boxes include carefully selected pantry staples and fresh items to support balanced meals.

For Donors

We need your help now more than ever. As SNAP benefits are cut off, thousands of families across the South Plains are at risk of food insecurity. Your donation allows us to provide fresh produce and pantry staples to neighbors who need it most.

Together, we can make sure no family goes hungry.
